Q&A with our Head Concierge

Discover more about the life of our Head Concierge Jesús Perez.

How would you describe the role of the Concierge?
In my personal style, I describe the role of Concierge as a hospitality role with a safe, patient and helpful attitude always ready to create memorable moments for our guests.

What made you decide to follow this path?
I am very passionate about hospitality, serving, managing, smiling and recommending the best options I have for my guests.

What type of training does a Concierge follow?
Generally, a Clefs d’Or Concierge attends, through the international association, international and Pan-American conferences where training and special training seminars based on luxury service are carried out.

What is the most demanding part of being a Concierge?
Managing last minute reservations in places that do not have availability, our keys that we have hanging on the lapel of our uniforms are to open those difficult doors

How do you keep up to date on the city happenings?
My relationship with the hotels union helps me stay updated, a Concierge must always be communicative with other concierges and tourism entities, I constantly go out for a walk in my tourist city to see what new establishments have opened in the city, from time to time I visit incognito a good restaurant to see how it continues to operate.

What is the craziest thing a guest has ever asked for?
A guest who wanted to propose to her girlfriend but wanted to do it in a different way than the usual standard, I found out that his girlfriend was passionate about walking through the hallways of houses and buildings in ancient ruins, with this information I managed to organize for the guest a Cousu-main or tailor-made of a marriage proposal in an old house in total ruins in the historic center, synchronize everything in such a way that the guest went out with his girlfriend to walk the center and they passed right by the street where the old house was. He went in to meet her and while making the tour, suddenly on the second floor a violinist began to play her favorite romantic wedding song and as they followed the music until they reached the second floor where the musician was, there the groom knelt down and asked her to marry him, everything. It was so romantic, how crazy crazy Love… that’s what the bride said!
